In 2009, a group of friends formed an all-female Krewe that’s membership is exclusive to women working in education. Sophia, the goddess of wisdom, is a perfect namesake for this group, because she represents the love of learning. The Krewe hosts events throughout the year, including an informal dance in the spring, family day in the summer, an autumn paint party, and a Christmas get-together. Every year the Krewe’s first meeting focuses on a service project that addresses a need in the community. In addition, the Krewe has a float which rolls in the Pineville’s Light Up the Night Parade, the AMGA Children’s and Krewe parades. The year culminates with the annual ball, where Queen Sophia and her princess daughters,
